Newton Eagle Tamauzia Brown Chosen as a Built Ford Tough Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to “Downtown” Tamauzia Brown for his excellence in athletics at Newton High School!  Ford Motor Company is proud to announce the winners of the 2018 Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week trophy for week #2 – among these winners is Newton High School’s Tamauzia Brown.

Six Built Ford Tough gridiron heroes are honored for their performance on the field and their leadership off the field.  Each week of the regular high school football season will see a new winner in the sport’s six classifications, all with hopes of ultimately becoming the Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Year.  Some of Brown’s qualifications include:

Class 3-A:  Tamauzia Brown, Sr., Wide Receiver, Newton.  After a slow start, Newton wide receiver Tamauzia Brown helped lead the Eagles to victory over the Silsbee Tigers Friday night.  Brown had 262 all-purpose yards with three touchdowns, one of which came on an 81-yard interception return.

“Tamauzia is one of the most unselfish players we have coached,” said Newton Offensive Coordinator Greg Neece.  “He is one of the main reasons we are defending state champions and currently ranked number one in Class 3-A.”

Awards/Accolades:  District MVP sophomore year; District Co-Offensive MVP; Super Gold First Team Defensive Back; Various All-State Honors as a DB; Offered many D-1 Football Scholarships; Committed to TCU.
