Eagles Convenience Store Robbed At Gunpoint

An unidentifiable person wearing a clown mask came into Eagles Convenience Store located on Hwy. 190 West on Thursday night, September 20, at approximately 10:30 p.m. threatening the clerk with a gun.

According to Newton Police Chief Will Jackson, the suspect was wearing a camouflage long-sleeved shirt, pants, gloves, and a clown mask.  Chief Jackson said that the suspect was covered from head to toe and stole an undetermined amount of cash from the clerk at gunpoint and then fled.  The robbery is being investigated by both the Newton Police Department and Newton County Sheriff’s Department.
