Shooting Victim Recovers After Gunshot Wound

Saturday, September 22, 2018, Sheriff Billy Rowles reported that his office received a 911 call about a shooting at at home on County Road 2008 just north of Bon Wier.  According to the sheriff, the parties involved have conflicting stories, but deputies have found that there were four individuals that went to a home and then a disturbance followed.  The sheriff said that one of the individuals struck Clayton Stewart on the head with a gun and the gun allegedly went off at that point striking Jesse Omstead.  Thankfully, Omstead was treated and released from Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital and is recovering nicely.  The incident is still under investigation and no other details are available at this time.
