Fire Destroys Home in Newton

The Newton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 730 Private Road 8300 off of Hwy. 190 East in Newton.  NVFD was called out at 10:30 p.m. on July 29, 2021 to the home of Dawn Parnell Woods.  The fire was fully involved when they arrived.  According to Captain Melanie Smith Bowman, the cause of the fire was undetermined.  The home was a total loss.
